Chapter 8

Bianas POV

 

“Ahhhhhh, are you done yet?” Marella yawned, wiping sleep from her eyes. 

She had woken them up early in the morning when the sun was still far from rising. They stood near the tallest building of Rimeshire. Biana was ready for this. She planned out a whole light show to ask out Dex, even using one of the circuits he invented. Right in front of his window. The thought for this whole event came after she kept tossing and turning through the night. What better way to ask Dex than inspire him with his own technology! Biana had to admit it was a bit extravagant but then again so was she.

 “Biana! Look!” Marella pointed up to the window that hopefully held her future date. A tiny light flickered as if someone had turned on a candle. 

“Dex!” She felt her face light up and pointed to the on switch. “On three flip the switch” she told Marella.

Biana leaned down to feel the ground as her long dress spread out around her. She picked up a small pebble and put it between her fingers. Let’s do this! Biana threw it up and heard a loud clang against the window glass. This time a big light came on and she saw a shadow walk towards the widow.

 “One, two……, three!” Just as Dex came into view with his sleepy face a big light came on. It worked! Biana was no master mind but she managed to do it. If only her midterms worked like this. Edging along the cliff in sparkly pink letters it said ‘Date?’ The lights were far too bright and probably woke everyone up, but she didn’t care. She saw Dex’s face turn bright red and rush to the other side of his room. Oh no, where was he going? Just as the panic began to hit her she heard a door creak open. When Dex came out she crinkled a brow. 

“Yes?”

“Yes!” He responded and more than surprisingly ran over to her sweeping her up in his arms and kissing her. His lips on hers felt more amazing than she ever could have imagined. She gasped in surprise then slowly came to her senses and kissed him back. The kiss was sweet and hopeful and as soon as his soft lips brushed hers she felt fireworks in her entire body. It was short and sweet and it left her smiling and wanting more. She just wanted to stay there with him forever feeling like the luckiest girl ever. When they pulled away they both just stood there grinning and staring at each other until they heard someone clear their throat behind them. Biana turned, suddenly remembering that Marella was there. She and Dex both turned bright pink as they saw Marella behind them, grinning. 

“So ummmm I guess we’re going to the dance together?” Dex mumbled shyly

Biana nodded and smiled as Marella squealed and clapped her hands excitedly.

“Yay! Dexiana’s official!” She said “And Linh told me she’s going to the dance with Wylie so all the cutest ships are sailing!”

Biana grinned. She couldn’t wait for the ball.
