Chapter 6

Sorry this chapter was a bit short but the next one will be full of romance and gossip! So thank you so much for reading! --K

Sophie’s POV

Sophie opened her eyes slowly then smiled when she realized the position she was in. At some point while she was sleeping her head had ended up on Keefe’s chest and now she could feel the steady sound of his breathing as he slept. Her arms were wrapped around him and they were curled up together in a position that made them look like lovers from a movie cover. Sophie smiled as she saw the peaceful and happy look on Keefe’s face, knowing her expression was probably somewhat similar. She gently kissed his head stroking her fingers through his hair. Keefe's eyes fluttered open and he smiled when he saw Sophie resting on him.

“Hey Foster” He said sleepily

“Hey” Sophie smiled and leaned back on him

“Sleep well?” He asked grinning

“Better than I have in a long time” Sophie said, smiling up at him

It was true. She’d always been so stressed she couldn't sleep well, but when she was with Keefe it was like all of her worries temporarily washed away. She forgot about the gossip and weirdness and for a while it was just her and Keefe.

Slowly he sat up and turned to her

“Well I would stay with you all day if I could” Keefe said grinning “But I should probably head home now. I don't know how long I’ve been here”

“Ok, well I’ll see you tomorrow” Sophie said giving him a quick kiss on the cheek

He turned to leave then paused

“Hey, do you mind if I borrow your iPod?” Keefe asked turning around

“Sure...Why do you need it?”

“Not telling” He said teasingly

Sophie rolled her eyes playfully and handed it to him

“Thanks. Ok I’ll see you tomorrow Foster”

“Bye!”

Sophie smiled and heard him talking to Ro outside. She waited until she was sure he was gone, then she flopped on her bed happily and squealed. Edaline walked in smiling widely.

“I take it you had fun with Keefe?” She said wiggling her eyebrows

“Lemme guess, you saw us during the movie?”

“Yeah sure you were watching a movie….” Edaline said

Sophie rolled her eyes

“I’m just glad he makes you happy” Her mom said

“Yeah...He really does” Sophie said smiling

He really, really does.

Keefe’s POV

Keefe was about to leave when he had an amazing idea. It was going to take some work but he couldn’t wait to see if it would work out. After Sophie gave him her iPod he headed out and started thinking about his idea. Well he tried to but all he could think about was the feeling of Sophie’s head resting on him and her arms wrapped around him, the thought made him smile widely. After he walked out of the room and closed the door, Ro jumped in front of him.

“Sooo...Have fun on your cuddlefest with Blondie?” She grinned

“Your what?” Sandor asked Keefe

“It’s nothing” Keefe said “How do you even know about that?” He asked turning to Ro

“Blondie’s mom came in to check on you guys and left with a huge smile on her face. I got a peek before the door closed, and I saw you two lovebirds fast asleep and cuddled up together. It was so adorable!” Ro teased

“Wait what?” Sandor asked

Keefe just rolled his eyes and walked away trying to ignore the bodyguards and focus on his idea. This is going to be great. He thought.

“Ahh come on Lord Hunkyhair!” Ro screamed after Keefe. They had just glittered back onto the shores of solace and Ro wouldn't stop bugging him.

“You could leave out the minor details” Ro kept pleading.

It was one thing to have an ogre bodyguard, but it was a whole other thing when she wanted a word by word story of how their little ‘date’ went. Keefe loved Ro and how protective she was, (and of course how she had always shipped Sophie and him), but after a while all the bugging was starting to annoy him.

“Leave it alone, those were our moments” he yelled behind him.

Ro jogged up in order to catch up with Keefe. These days she still wore her brightly colored hair in pigtails and would never take off the full body armor.

“Ooh now you're sharing moments together?” She said making Keefe roll his eyes

“Please” she requested once more.

“No.” He stared back up at her

“Fine” she sighed, “But how about a little game of truth or dare?”

Looking up at her strangely green eyes, he knew he could never say no. “Fine. Dare” Keefe squinted through the blinding sun.

Ro walked over to the first swing on the little outside deck and plopped down.

“Easy, I dare you to elaborately ask Blondie to your sparkly elf ball again, in front of the whole school.” Her smile gave away more than words. She wanted their pretty little girl to get a big performance.

“Nooo choose something else” He pleaded,

“Uh uh uh” Ro wiggled her sharp, bright red nails at him. “I’ll tell you what: if you can do that, not only will I give you a reward, I’ll also help you with that little project, or whatever it is.”

She smiled pointing at Sophie’s iPod in his hand. He did really need her help, and a reward sounded good… but he had already asked Sophie and she had accepted. Plus it had been nerve-racking enough, and doing it on a bigger scale would probably be a million times worse.  Yet a dare was a dare especially to Keefe

“Deal” he smiled back, raising one eyebrow. “I put a big show on, and you promise to help me with this project?” Keefe inquired. Ro flashed her sharp teeth and gave a giant ogre thumbs up. This would probably be embarrassing for Keefe, but at least he got something out of it, and seeing Sophie blush intensely again would be worth it.

“Let’s do it” He grinned.
